Economic crisis didn't just happen suddenly. There were signs all over that things were not right but only few voices to support that. "Economic crisis is moral crisis" some people warned but is was useless. The rest already lived or, mainly, were after the "greek dream": easy money and cheap fame. A whole new generation grew up in a society that for about 20 years was chasing the bonfire of the vanities.
Julia is a typical product of this society. She was born in 1984 and her parents always saw in her undoubted beauty their ticket to the world of the rich and famous.
She was just 12 years old when she started modelling and in 19 she won the second title of the yearly greek beauty contest.
Julia continued working as a model but by 2005 greek fashion industry was already shrinking along with money awards.
So, she tried to become a singer turning herself into a joke and eventually ending up her modelling career forever.
Soon after, rumors wanting Julia involved in cocaine and prostitution spread.
"I'm a big whore, so what?" she said in an interview. "Doesn't everyone do the same so as to get a promotion in big companies?"
In 2009, she socked greek public again, starring in her first porn movie. "I did it for the money" she admitted.
Media rejected her and almost never showed her again 'cause - among all reasons- ugly people hate mirrors. Julia definitely reflects a big part of greek society. She's all boys and girls that grew up dreaming to be famous for being famous and rich for doing nothing. She's all parents supporting them in this. Julia is all bimbos greek media promoted during the previous decades, putting aside people of culture and science. She's the stripping down of a whole system itself that's still embarrassed to admit the way it worked. At least Julia's been honest.
According to the greek newspaper "6 Days", during the last couple of years over 2.500 Greeks applied for porn starring. As for Julia...last summer she starred in her 4th porn movie which is entitled: "Help Greece: Watch 100% Greek Porn".
