Stop crisis

Two more people died today and three others are fighting for their lives in the hospital because of the economic crisis. Their families are devastated and once more the whole country is immersed in grief. These University Students lost their lives just because they could not afford paying for heating oil and tried to get warm lighting charcoal in a brazier. During the night, they were suffocated by fumes.

" This is not a tragedy- it's a murder " shouted many people in Larissa who demonstrated against crisis and Greek policy.

In Greece, the price of heating oil in the second half of 2012 was 1266(!) euros per 1.000lt while in UK was 861 and in N.Y. 790. Greek government decided to increase taxes in order to collect money but Greeks didn't buy heating oil as they could not afford it anymore. As a result government did not collect the expected amount of money and people die.

Since 2009, Greek government cut wages and pensions by at least 25%, raised income tax by 37,3% and tax possession property by 422% !
