Saturday afternoon, Panepistimiou Avenue.
A few blocks away from the military protest, life goes on normally.
Sales women are taking their break to smoke a cigarette.
On the right, Icky holds Ricky in his arms and a piece of paper saying "I'm hungry" in his right hand. He comes from Servia and speaks neither greek or english.
In Greece family is a very important part of life. It's always nice seeing couples spending the whole of their lives together, holding each other. And yes, Greeks are heavy smokers. In fact, the law prohibiting smoking in coffee shops, bars and restaurants was never really implemented.
Greek koulouri - street sesame-coated-bread- is very popular to Greeks. Especially in the morning before going to work many eat koulouri as breakfast.
But those are the lucky ones.
