Fake dawn

Is Greece 100% seropositive to fascism?

The answer is definitely no. Not even the 6,92% of Greek voters that voted for Golden Dawn share the ideas of this ultra right party.

Eleni P. owns a drugstore in the district of Agios Panteleimon. For more than a year she kept on calling the police because dozens of immigrants gathered outside her store discouraging her clients to go close.

A neighbor told her to call some members of Golden Dawn and she did so.
She never saw any immigrant outside her window again.

"I'm not a racist or fascist or anything like that. But I, myself was scared to unlock my store. They kill for nothing. These people showed up (members of GD) when no one else cared.

That's the reason I voted for them".

There are several stories supporting that the failure of the State to protect its citizens and give immigrants the hope they came for, gave "birth" to a monster.

Taking advantage of hard times and disappointment spread, GD attracts supporters by "replacing" the State. Except from "protection", it also provides food, health care and history lessons just to Greeks eventually investing on a future generation of real fascists.

In the elections of 2009, right in the beginning of crisis, less than 20.000 people voted for Golden Dawn. That's only a percentage of 0,29% showing that fascism has no routes in Greece. Nevertheless, in 2012, 440.000 voted for GD which is the 6.92% of Greek citizens. Recent gallops of 2013 increase this percentage to 10%-13%.
